Well the kit has arrived!
JB dropped it off at my place at 5:00 pm giving the neighbours something
to talk about. Everything seems to be there except the build manual!.
Hopefully I will get that early next week.
First task is to clean
and prime the frame, then paint it with chassis black. Next is to
have the rear suspension brackets welded to the diff, then the diff
can be re-assembled and painted. The front and rear suspension arms
will go to off for powder coating, and hopefully, the suspension
can be assembled by the end of the month

Here's the view from
the front of the car. Can I say car? It certainly looks like a car
with the GRP panels taped in place. The AVO shocks look really nice,
and I am looking forward to getting all the suspension components
in place. You can see the wishbones clearly in this shot.
I had hoped to get some
shots of the kit arriving and being unloaded etc, but it all happened
so fast, I missed the opportunity. Anyway, It's all here now, apart
from a gearbox, and JB reckons he will have one of those for me
this weekend. What service!

Another shot of the kit
components, showing the AVO shocks and springs. I was pleasantly
surprised at the shape of the car. The rear arches seem more well-shaped
than I'd imagined. I'd rather been expecting sort of trailer guards,
but these look ok, and with a bit of imagination I can see them
looking really good.
Someone made the comment
that it didn't look like a lot of car for the money, but I know
that this will probably be one of the best fun per dollar purchases
I have ever made. Can't wait!

A closer shot of the
AVO shocks and springs showing one shock ready for assembly of the
spring. I will have to make a tool to compress the springs so we
can get them onto the shocks.
For some reason, this
photo makes the shocks look like they are floating above the floor.
I think the ambient light plus fill-in flash cancelled out the shadows,
and makes them appear they're floating. Interesting.
